We have to used it when the user is not required to do task oriented, otherwise we don’t need it.

What is a “site map?”
it is representation of the entire project, structure, organization, flow, and grouping of content and information. It should show all of the pages of the site.
What are the two types of naming conventions that are addressed in the book?
organizational and HTML naming, and a good site map should have both types.
Organization naming: we use alphabet or numbers to show the pages in sitemap. But in HTML we use name of the links.

Site, page, and user views.
2)What are the differences between the three views?
Site view creates the overall structure and a blueprint for the site.
Page view organizes navigation and visuals and fireframes.
User view is the relationship of one page to the next, including actions and task flows intended for visitors to follow.
3)What is a “content audit?”
Content audit is an evaluation of every piece of content ( text, imagery, or media) in the outgoing site that is relevant to the redesign.

Name a few examples of “overall goals” for the web site design or re-design.
Making the navigation more simple and organize the content to increase the traffic for the website and emphasis of the new product.
What does a Project Plan consist of?
Detailed of the work , how its done, a schedule, budget, communication brief, Target audience information, audience profile, audience technical capabilities, user testing plan, details and assumptions.
Give examples of good documentation practices for a project.
Save all emails of the client, get client sign offs for approvals. Keep a all file for the project.
When is an Additional Charge Form Used?
When clients ask for additional change out of what they signed, team may approve the changes and charge the clients.
What are the two ways to approach the Scheduling task?
Making an overview schedule that shows methodology chronologically and write down a detailed date format that itemizes deliverables and approval reviews according to due dates.
What is the difference between a Visual Designer and an Information Designer?
The visual designer creates graphics for the website; an information designer creates structure of the site, makes the site useable for viewers, and translate business goals into functional schematics.
What is a “staging area?
It serves as a hub of communication for the project. It has two section, client staging site and a team development area. first one should be simple and second one should be protected by password.
What is included in the agenda of a “kick off” meeting?
Project plan, overview,schedule, deliverable, and details.

What are the differences between a Formal and an Informal Industry Analysis?
there are tow kind of differences: formal and informal.
The Formal one are research company that use intensive documentation with a higher level of budget to work from. Their focus is based on analyzing the specific industry, market segmentation, trends and forecasts, and what customers need. in this form process is expensive.
An informal one is done by members of the web development team who re-create the user experience online. An informal analysis of competitive sites is performed that focuses on features and user experience. they can tell use what how it works for every one or it doesn’t in 5 to 20 pages. It is not as expensive as the formal analysis.
Name a few of the features you might look for when you are doing a Competitive Analysis?
how they navigate, graphic elements, how fast we can download, security, social media.
What are the three main areas for rating when evaluating for a Competitive Analysis?
Overall Experience, Functionality, and Look & Feel.
